The Art of Halo 4-book!

I got this as a present in the mail yesterday. FANTASTIC book. Tons of great concept art (which I absolutely LOVE). There are technical drawings, orthogonal pieces, finished art work and more.

I checked the price on the back of the book and it runs $34.95. Seems a bit pricey. However, what is inside really makes it worth it. The book is just chock full of Halo art goodness. I already own the previous Halo art book, so this one makes for an excellent companion to it and gets you up to date. Even if you don’t own the previous book (which showcases art from all the previous Halo games, NOT Halo 4), I highly recommend getting this one.

The imagery is awe inspiring. There are 5 main chapters:
• Environments: Covers the campaign mission environments
• UNSC: Master Chief, Cortana, Spartans, other troops, weapons and vehicles
• Covenant: similar to the UNSC in content, just skewed towards Covies
• Forerunner: like UNSC, but also includes the Cryptum….and Didact!
• War Games: Multiplayer map environments and Spartan IV Armor variants

This book I’d consider a fairly comprehensive look at the art of Halo 4. I’ll be using it as reference for years!

  1. I’m pretty sure I’m getting this for Christmas. If it’s half as good as the Halo 3 art book then I’ll love it.
