Halo Ricochet League settings and rules coming along. NEED PLAYTESTORS!

I’ve been hard at work creating preliminary settings for the Halo Ricochet League (HRL). I’m also writing the rules/regulations for the league and hope to have that completed by this weekend.

This Friday from 8-10pm EST HFFL will have it’s normal Halo Fan Friday League, where we will be playing nothing but Ricochet. Some in matchmaking and some on the HRL map I created.

So if you’ve bought the Champions bundle pack and would like to have an opportunity to get involved early with the HRL, let me know. You can e-mail me at sal@halofanforlife or by sending an invite request on Friday night at the times stated above.

I will need lots of play testors for this, so the more the merrier. Feedback after matches will be welcome. Please be constructive in your criticism though.

Thanks and hope to see you then!

  1. Why are you creating your own settings for Ricochet instead of using the same settings 343 currently has in place in the Champions Playlist? Do you not like some of the settings currently in-game? If we are playing between multiplayer and custom matches and certain setting vary between them, remembering which setting applies to which game variant could potentially be confusing. Just curious about your thoughts.

    • To bring some uniformity to gameplay. That’s the short answer. I’m creating new maps for the league so power weapons placement as well as what those are will need to be determined. Of the games I’ve played, I’ve noticed that they tend to go by very quickly. So I’m slowing that down a bit so that teams will have to think a little more about tactics. Also, scoring has been changed to reflect American football scores as closely as possible. Settings right now are not set in stone. This is why I will be playtesting the maps and corresponding settings to get feedback from the community. If it seems settings should be changed by the majority of playtestors, I’ll change them.
Again, this is all in the very early stages. Be patient and I think you’ll see the changes will work to the benefit of league gameplay.
As for switching back and forth, since this is brand new to Halo, I can see where it may be a little confusing to start. Over time, as more teams join the league and get used to the settings, I don’t expect there to be that level of confusion.

  2. Sounds fun, I too thought the game doesn’t last long at all, maybe 8 mins tops. Custom maps sound like a blast, reminds me of the old reach days. Can’t wait!
