Now here’s a set I know you folks have been wanting and waiting to see. It’s the UNSC Firebase. Once upon a time, a long long time ago…we got a glimpse of Mega Bloks proposed Firebase. Fans had mixed reactions to it. At the time, many fans balked the price of $199. Since then, we’ve shelled that much out and more for example the Covenant Scarab.
Mega Bloks listened to all of the concern regarding the original Firebase. So they nixed it. (to my disappointment)

IIRC, the hill background was just for show and not part of the planned set. Though I could be wrong on that, so don’t quote me.

Over the years Mega ‘parted’ the set out by releasing parts of the big set into smaller set. We of course got the Cyclops (many times over), the Troop Warthog, and the Vampire. We just needed the base. Well….read on and you’ll see what Mega is finally coming out with!

YES!!! While still smaller than the original Firebase, it retains some of the detail, with some upgrades as well. Oh, before I forget, I was told this set only comes with 4 figures, not 5. The two Drones for sure. The rep couldn’t recall which of the other three (the Hunter, the Spartan, or the Marine) didn’t come with the set. Personally, I hope all five are there. If not, the nix the Marien and put him into a small army building type set!
So again, we’re getting more Drones! This time Red and a Green variants. And, they have blue wings! This will leave us only with the Blue color version of the Drone. Awesome!
As you can see there are plenty of ladders for the UNSC to get around in the Firebase.
One thing to note below. Look at the bottom right corner. See that peg sticking out? (It’s right by the blog’s logo) The other side has one as well. What this means is that should you choose to, you can buy two sets of the Firebase and connect them!! AWESOME!!! VERY happy with that decision!
IIRC, the rep said this set had more than 600 pieces. No price yet, but if we use the traditional 10 cents per piece guideline, then the set would be around $60. I say that is TOTALLY worth it!

Here’s the hunter closer up on both sides. It gets a great upgrade with the large shield. Since Hunters come in pairs and if there is only one in this set, well…you’ll have to buy two Firebases….LOL.
I’m very excited for this set. I can just imagine what custom set builders are already planning to do with this when they get it.

That halo 4 hunter looks marvelous, and those drones are VERY nice looking IMO.
And the firebase itself looks really good. And who knows, maybe not only will the pegs connect two firebases, maybe they will come out with new sets to add on to this!

Heh, I too am hoping there will be other portions of the base that can be added. If not, I’m sure we can all be a bit creative. I know I have tons of green camp bloks. Not the exact same color as these, but they will do, to add on to this and make a big base.
I love the railgun add-on to the left side turret. Did they happen to mention any lights and sounds function with that?
No electronics mentioned.
I’m disappointed that it wasn’t the original, but I absolutely love getting structures instead of vehicles all the time!
Yeah, I hear ya. I would STILL love to have the original set, even if it didn’t include the Warthog, Vampire, and Cyclops. We are really lacking in big playlset/location styled sets for Halo Mega Bloks.
Finally! You know I’ve been waiting for Mega Bloks to release an UNSC Firebase for quite a while now and they finally did it. I am, however, a bit underwhelmed by it since it looks rather small and it’s clear that Mega Bloks wants consumers to buy two. Seriously though, if you only buy one, you literally have half a base. And you said it yourself, if the Hunter is indeed in this set, you would want a pair of them so you’ll buy another one. Anyways, I hope the front of the base has closing doors (which it seems it does).
Despite my complaints, I’ve been waiting for this set for far too long and will probably buy two of them regardless. 😀
This is what I’ve been waiting for above everything else. It looks like a promising start to what will hopefully be a series of exciting and interesting firebase sets going forward with the Halo line!

what I really like in this set is that covert operations scout he looks excellent. I will buy not two but I’ll buy four.these drones awesome the hunter epic and the base OMG the base is awesome and I really liked the marine heavy. Thank you for showing more images of this set.
