Read on to see see the goodness coming from Kotobukiya!

We’ve seen this statue before. I’ve written about it on the blog previously.

To see this in person was a pleasure. It’s MUCH bigger than I thought it would be. The detail is amazing. Man…the one thing that stinks about Toy Fair is that I want everything! LOL

If any of you have this statue, please feel free to send me some pics of it and I’ll share them on the blog.

Now for something new from Kotobukiya. Removable armor for Spartans first came from McFarlane in their action figure line. Then Mega Bloks just last year developed a removable armor system. Kotobukiya has taken this a step further. Neither McFarlane, nor Mega Bloks has made a base Spartan that you can completely add armor to. THAT is what Kotobukiya is offering!

Above and below are examples of the products to come. The white Spartan is a wax mold, while the grey one is a resin mold, which is one of the next steps in the process from concept to creation.Koto Armor system display2

Master Chief is the first figure to come out. He will cost $79.99.

From there, the plan is to sell armor sets that you can mix/match using the base body from Master Chief. Those armor sets are planned to be sold retail for $44.99.

This part of the display was great to see in person. Chief’s Mark V armor. Beautiful!!!Koto Armor CE Armor expansion

No word yet if there will be any other Spartan full figures released beyond Master Chief. I imagine that should the line do well, we’ll see more full figures. I’d love to see Thorne and Locke for this line.
