The Halo Bulletin 5-1-13
Kind of a disappointing bulletin this week, IMO.
Bravo is given the reigns for this one. He starts off by flaunting the fact that he works for 343 and that he got to get into a life sized Warthog. He included another MLGer “Walshy” in this photo op then moves on to an interview with him about the weapons tuning. Rather dry stuff to me.
Next is an actual article on weapons tuning where it’s said that 343 will be inviting a small group of community members into the studio to get a sneak peak at the new weapon tuning. Hmm, I bet this will be mostly MLGers and devs. You know, NOT the regular fans. Sigh.
An article about CSR is next and WOW hey 26 people reached level 35 or higher in the Castle playlist. Hmm, is there something fundamentally wrong there? Out of the roughly 40k active Halo 4 gamers ONLY 26 got that high or better? Seems like CSR isn’t quite working correctly, at least in that playlist.
A list of next week’s matchmaking is up next. Plenty of NEW (forge) maps are coming to matchmaking and some current forge maps are being rotated into other playlists. Not really too excited about this. (I’m not a fan of some of the “Candyland” colored objects in many of the forge maps.)
Finally the gallery this week is of screenshots on Daybreak. Bummer to say, but I think this was the highlight of this week’s bulletin, well that or that it finally came to an end.
Sorry folks, I just wasn’t impressed with the bulletin this week. Apologies for what appears to be a snarky attitude towards it.

Halo Mega Bloks custom: Covenant Gorgon
The Gorgon was a vehicle in concept for Halo Wars. Hmm, looking at it now, it would have been great to have in Halo 4. Instead of being an Anti-Air mech, it could have gone against the Mantis. Imagine epic battles in Multiplayer.

The white fins at the top are glow-in-the-dark. Pretty cool. Again, this is something I’d have LOVE to have seen in Halo 4.

NEW Halo comic book from Dark Horse! The origin of Sarah Palmer!!!
Wired posted an article today detailing a new Halo mini-series comic book.

Although graphic novels and comics set in the Halo series have heretofore been handled by industry giant Marvel, Wired can exclusively reveal today that the next series of books based on Microsoft’s insanely popular Xbox shooters will be produced by Dark Horse. On August 14, it will launch the first issue of a new mini-series called Halo: Initiation.
Brian Reed, the comic writer who adapted the Halo: Fall of Reach novel into comic form in 2010 before joining 343 Industries to write the Halo 4 game, will write the books, with Marco Castiello (Star Wars: Purge) on art. Initiation is the origin story of Sarah Palmer, a character introduced in Halo 4. Although she appeared in the game as a commander of the Spartan forces, she was originally an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper; this series follows her career path.
“After Halo 4 and Spartan Ops, fans wanted to know more about the origins of the Spartan-IV program and Sarah Palmer in particular. So it’s great fun to be able to grant those wishes with a partner like Dark Horse,” Reed said in a statement issued by Dark Horse.

The Halo Bulletin 4-24-12
Ooh, there are some goodies in this week’s Bulletin.
First we find out why Jen Taylor was at 343. She did personalized voice mails for the highest bidders of the “Child’s Play Charity Dinner Auction.” While there she played a game of “Did you know?” Revolvoing around her various acting credentials. Someone brought up her wiki page and it was found to have some errors…
Next up are three sets of clues to as yet to be discovered Halo 4 Campaign Easter Eggs. Here’s a pic of the clues:
I think I have part of the Infinity one worked out, so I’m going to try and get that one today. Though the first part of it makes me think I should be listening for a loud “fart” sound, LOL.
After this the bulletin goes on to an article regarding weapon tuning. BR, DMR, LR, and AR are all discussed.
Next up something near and not so dear to me, JIP or Join-In-Progress. Something I happen to abhor that is in Halo 4. Looks like while it’s still going to be in the game, the time in which you can JIP will be reduced, in some cases drastically. GOOD!
Finally, BS Angel posts up a gallery of “Assassin” screenshots.

Iron Man’s “Iron Patriot” in Halo 4!
Okay not really, but here is my version of him:
I’m a huge Iron Man fan. In fact my former gamer tag used to include “Iron Man” in it.
I’m SO looking forward to Iron Man 3 coming out next month that I wanted to change up my armor a bit. I’ve worn the Red and Gold for a long time, so I figured why not change it up and go for the Red White and Blue of the movie version of Iron Patriot.
I like it. NO of course it’s not accurate. It can’t be. (Well, not without major money being exchanged between Microsoft/343 and Marvel-which I WISH they’d do…I’d love to be Iron Man/Iron Patriot in Halo.)
I also managed to get just star emblem for my spartan. I did this by choosing the “wiseguy” foreground emblem, turning off the secondary color, making the primary white, then choosing the star background emblem and making that white. So it ends up looking like just a star.
So what do you folks think? Like it? Dont’?
