About Sal

I’ve got tons of experience with Halo gaming and collecting. I feel I have something to offer to the greater Halo fan community. Posts along the way will be about tips and tricks in the games as well as collecting and many more Halo related things. I’ll also repost interesting articles from the official site, Halowaypoint.com, or from fellow Halo fan sites. As I continue this blog, I hope to help gamers who want advice on the games, as well as any collectors with regards to where to find collectibles as well as deals, coupons and so on. New articles coming tomorrow!

I’d have had these up today, however, I sprained my back gardening…

Anyway, tomorrow, I plan to have an article on the Phaeton Helios, that was just released in the Momories of Reach update.

May also have something for Halo 5’s campaign. That one depends on how much better I feel tomorrow.

Halo Library Edition Volume 1 Hard Cover

Halo Library Edition

Below is the paraphrased description of the book.

Published by Darkhorse and having been released on May 11, 2016, this 368 page hard cover book has within reprints of Halo Initiation #1-3 and Halo Escalation #1-12.

As well, there are notes in the margins that are exclusive to the book. Included also is a cover gallery of the issues and some ‘never before seen’ extras.

HFFL: I have all of these issues, however, I really enjoy having hard cover books. For one, it makes the chance of damage far less. (Comics can be a bit weak in this area…) I’m especially looking forward to the extras and notations.

The full price is $49.99, however, you can get it for $44.99 from tfaw.com. OR, if you can wait just a little longer, you can get it from Amazon for the much lower price of $32.61!

Are you or have you gotten this? I’ll be waiting for the lower price from Amazon.

Canon Fodder: The Write Stuff

This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:

BY GRIMBROTHER ONE
ISSUE 75

Welcome back, Fodder faithful; can you believe it’s been 75 issues already? Last week we dropped new knowledge on armor and weapons from the brand new Memories of Reach content release for Halo 5: Guardians, and dropped a deep lore bomb on the community’s most curious by revealing the long-lost missing pages from Halsey’s Personal Journal.  If you missed it then, get in there and rectify that situation, Spartan! As for this week, while I don’t have any diamonds on hand – as is customary for such an anniversary – I do have something that many Halo lore lovers might consider almost as valuable: brand new info on some fabulous new fiction.Fracts of Life

Back in 2009, Halo fans around the world – including your humble messenger – devoured their respective copies of Halo: Evolutions. Showcasing “essential tales of the Halo universe,” the acclaimed anthology featured a wonderful collection of stories from a variety of passionate authors tackling a wide range of narrative corners. From “Headhunters” and “The Return,” to “Human Weakness” and “The Impossible Life & Possible Death of Preston J Cole,” many of these stories quickly began to rank among fans’ favorites. With this in mind, 343 Industries and Simon & Schuster are extremely excited to announce a brand new anthology novel, Halo: Fractures.

Memories of Reach additional info

So the Livestream just ended. Almost 2 hours worth.

Here are some things we learned.

Memories of Reach comes out TOMORROW!

Lots of Forge things coming. Textures! We will now be able to applied preset textures to all of the primitive pieces. These include Covie themed, wood, metal and more. As well, there are at least two overlays. Blood and grime!

Jorge’s Turret gives the spartan added damage and protection. No other abilities can be used when wielding the turret though.

For Infection, 3 of the dev made maps have been ‘infected’. There will also be 9 community made maps introduced into Infection.

Grifball will hang around for about another week as fixes to that game mode will be introduced with this update. Then it goes away for a time being.

Video And Details For Halo 5’s Infection Mode (via Gameinformer)

This is a reblog from Gameinformer:

by Kyle Hilliard

610H5-Guardians-Arena-MP4

Halo’s Infection mode, the fan-created multiplayer variant that eventually became a true Halo mode, is coming to Halo 5: Guardians this month. The mode plays out as humans-versus-zombies outbreak with infected players attempting to grow their numbers by taking out the opposite team, who is simply trying to survive. For its Halo 5 iteration, 343 is going above and beyond to make the mode stand out as more than just a variant playlist, with three modified maps, a multitude of aesthetic changes, and more customization options than those available in Halo 4.
