Mattel to make Barbie as Cortana!
This is still in the prototype phase of development, so it’s still very much a work in progress.
I thought there already was a Cortana Barbie doll out there. Guess not. Now, I do NOT collect Barbie, but I might make this one-time exception. I mean, come on, it’s CORTANA!
No word on when these might hit the market. The detail isn’t bad. May get better. Again, this is in prototype phase.
If I had to guess at price, I think Barbie runs around $10 or less? With this being a licensed product, maybe $12-15???
So what do you think? Would you get this?

Halo Toy Review: Bandai Sprukits Master Chief
Sprukits have been out for a little while. I just haven’t had the extra funds to get them. In fact I still don’t. However, when I went to New York Toy Fair, I talked with all of the manufacturers that had a license to make Halo toys and collectibles. BanDai is one of those. I won’t mention who I talked to so as to keep them from getting unwanted solicitations for these sets. Anyway… After New York Toy Fair, I was contacted by the person at BanDai. We exchanged pleasantries and reminisced about Toy Fair a little. They they did something incredibly generous. They ask for my address and said they wanted to send me some sets. I graciously accepted their offer.
There are four sets at retail currently. At level 2 there are Master Chief, Spartan Thorne, and Commander Palmer. There is a level 3Â Master Chief as well. When the person said they would send sets, I thought, well, maybe I’ll get two of them since it was plural. It wouldn’t have mattered which I would have received. I would have been thankful for any. However, when I got the box from BanDai, it included one each of all four sets! As well, they included a Sprukits T-shirt! I was a bit gobsmacked by their generosity.
This review is the first of the four that I’ll be putting out over the next week and a half. In particular, this is the level 2 Master Chief. It’s the smaller of the two Master Chief Sprukit models.
Okay, without further ado, let’s get to the review. Continue reading

Halo Product Review: Metal Earth Master Chief Helmet
When I went to New York Toy Fair this year, I had the pleasure to meet not only the designer, but the owners of Fascinations as well. While taking with both of them about their Halo line, we discussed possible new models to come. During this conversation, the designer was kind enough to offer me one each of their Halo models to review on the blog. This is the first of 4 planned reviews for Fascinations line of Halo Metal Earth models.
Now before I get started, I need to say that this is the first time I’ve worked with laser cut models at this scale. I chose the Master Chief Helmet set to start with since I thought it might be the easiest one.
I learned very quickly that this is the kind of model you MUST take your time with. As such you can see below that it took me 3 1/2 hours to build.
Technical Specifications:
Build Time:Â 3 1/2 hours
Special Features:Â N/A
Cost:Â $13-15 retail

This was part of my coverage for New York Toy Fair. However, I held on to this as I was waiting on some official info from Dark Horse themselves for the product.
So here now are the ships that Dark Horse will be making available later this year and moving forward.
As you can see, the first three ships to be made are a UNSC Pelican, a Covenant CCS Cruiser and the UNSC Infinity.
