Halo Fleet Battles Wave 3!!

Wave 3 will be shipping starting September 30. There are two models sets you can order and a Battle Group ID/Token pack as well.

Here’s the official text blurb straight from Spartan Games about these new sets:

Spartan Games is pleased to announce Halo: Fleet Battles Wave 3! Not only does this release include fleets led by Fleet Admiral Terrence Hood, Cortana, Xytan ‘Jar Wattinree and the Minister of Etiology, but you’ll also have the chance to upgrade your card markers with coloured acrylic tokens.

Covenant Fleet Box

A giant even amongst the Sangheili, Xytan ‘Jar Wattinree is revered by his comrades for his incredible prowess in battle. Supported by the Minister of Etiology, a minor Prophet in the Covenant during the Human-Covenant war, this fleet delivers the leadership needed to harness a tireless religious zeal that will eventually lead to the Fall of Reach.

This is an ideal way to upgrade an existing Covenant force or begin building your brand new fleet. Within this boxed set you will find two ORS Heavy Cruisers, two CCS-class Battlecruisers and sixteen SDV Heavy Corvettes. Armed with a host of plasma-based weaponry, the ORS and CCS are able to launch both Bombers and Interceptors directly into the heart of battle. Supported by SDV Heavy Corvettes, watch your heavy vessels lay down overwhelming weapons fire and obliterate your enemy.

UNSC Fleet Box

Few in the upper-echelons of the UNSC are as respected as Admiral Lord Hood. As a veteran of numerous military campaigns throughout his military career, Hood is an outstanding choice to lead your fleet to victory. Supported by the Artificial Intelligence Cortana, one of the most potent and valuable assets in humanity’s arsenal, your fleet will ensure the Covenant pays a heavy price in ships and soldiers.

This is an ideal way to upgrade an existing UNSC force or begin building your brand new fleet. Within this boxed set you will find two Epoch-class Heavy Carriers, four Marathon-class Heavy Cruisers and thirty Paris-class Frigates. Armed with Light MACs and an array of impressive missile batteries, the Epoch is able to deploy both Bombers and Interceptors into the heat of battle. Marathon Heavy Cruisers are your bulk heavy hitters, commonly fielded in Battle Groups with Paris-class Frigates in either Arrowhead or Trident Formation.

  1. Ah, I need to pick some of these “Fleet Battles” sets up in the near future. The first one was a wee bit expensive, so these are perfect!

    • Yeah, I wanted that first set BADLY. But like you said, it’s a bit expensive. Honestly, I just want them for the models. I’d be happy splitting a set each of the Covies/UNSC.

  2. I don’t understand why this type of game is so expensive. At the very least have painted models!

Anyways, I find the Covenant fleet interesting. 16 corvettes and only 4 of the bigger ships? So strange. And is it considered equivalent to the UNSC fleet? Like can this particular Covenant fleet take on the two carriers, four cruisers, and thirty frigates?

    • Yeah, I do t get it either. These are just plastic parts too. I get that ye had to engineer the molds and write the rules of the game. Still seems a bit expensive. I wish they’d sell just the models. I don’t really want the game.
