Halo 5: Guardians is getting a live-action trailer set to reveal a glimpse of the game’s story on March 29.

Microsoft has revealed the trailer will be watchable online, and is set to build on the other elements of the marketing campaign we’ve seen so far.

The new trailer promises to show “both sides of the story”.

In other recent Halo news, the studio head for Halo 5: Guardians, Josh Holmes, revealed last week that the title will have only have dedicated servers for multiplayer, adding “That’s true for matchmaking AND customs. There is no P2P.”

HFFL: Well things are definitely getting exciting. I hope there is news soon of the live action TV show also.

Okay folks, have a seat and get ready for some wild speculation. This is going to take some slight imagination, along with a theory based in Greek mythology.

First, as we know, some of the Halo franchise has Greek mythology imprinted into it. The most obvious being that of the Promethean of Halo 4.

So how does that fit in with what I’m about to speculate on. Okay, well here goes…

The screenshot below was taken from the short vid below that. Here we see Spartan Jameson Locke deboarding what is likely a Pelican. What is that beyond? It’s not Covenant. Wrong color and too angular. Is it UNSC? Looks like a UNSC flag near top middle. Or is Forerunner? Also, what’s with that blue glow coming from the mid of his back? Is it the power cell from his mjolnir armor? Or…might it be a new Cortana? (Similar to how she was encased in a tube at the end of Reach) Make note that his rifle does have a skin on it. Will this be something returning to multiplayer or will this be the only one, making this skin standard?

Late last year, we gave you a first look at the future of Halo multiplayer with the release of the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta. This was a huge endeavor for everyone on the Halo 5: Guardians team and one that we approached with nervous excitement. After all, this was the earliest that we have ever released a beta for a Halo game, coming almost a year before release.
