Halo Mega Bloks GREEN Spade custom

MB grey logo

MEGA has now come out with it’s second version of the Spade from Halo Reach. The original was done in the dark orange in-game color. The new version is done in a curiously no-in-game red color (which I do not yet have). I’ve been asking MEGA for sometime to make this in both the green and/or blue in-game colors.

Since I have 3 of this set, I decided to take matters into my own hands and make a green custom. The build is of course the same. The only thing I did was to paint the orange parts green.

Here it is! (Click pics to make bigger)

I very happy with the outcome when compared to the in-game version. The color is very close. Additionally, this color scheme is reminiscent of the Halo Reach Marine battle uniform!

What do you think? Do you like the green version? For those of you who collect Halo MEGA Bloks, would you like to see them make the green and blue in-game versions? Make your opinion known, they may just be reading…

  1. I like it, though it would be nice to have a green/blue spade in the line, I don’t see it happening nor do i want it. The reason why is because if the do make another version, that would make it there third one and I don’t see the use in it but wasting space and my money. so yea, I don’t want to see another one. I would rather spend the money on a new set or a remake a a set that hasn’t been in 2 different colors all ready like a black pelican with blood red windshields, or a warthog “mind you that the warthog is an iconic vehicle” that it could.

P.S….how did you paint that so well? what colors did you use , what type of paint , different brushes….ects

    • One color. Spray can. Two coats of paint with drying time between. Outdoor matte paint. To do this (and I should have taken pics to show), I used a large baseplate, covered it with saran wrap, put some bloks on top to hold the saran wrap down. Placed the orange bloks on top of those, then sprayed the paint on. I waited an hour between sprays, then a full day after until I handled the parts to finish the build. I would have used “clear coat” but we are out of it.

  2. I like it and would buy it, would make a nice set with some new figures and maybe a small structure. Also I was wondering if you’d had a chance to look at my custom Hawk and if so what do you think about it?

    • Yeah, more unique figs and a structure would help sell it. Please send the files again for the Hawk. I looked in my e-mail and couldn’t find them. Apologies.
