Lockout is the next Halo 2 classic map to be remastered, pics inside!

It comes as no surprise that Lockout was another map chosen to be remastered. A favorite by many, this map may be the one that has had the most remakes. (official and otherwise)

Take a look below at comparison shots of the original Lockout and the newly renamed “Lockdown”.

Here we have a comparison of “Elbow.”hffl-pax-2014-halo-2-anniversary-lockout-elbow-classichffl-pax-2014-halo-2-anniversary-lockout-elbow
Wow does this look SO much better! I wonder though how the shadows may affect gameplay?

Next we see “Lift.” I’m glad “Glass” was put back into the map. Now the callout “Under Glass” makes sense again!hffl-pax-2014-halo-2-anniversary-lockout-lift-classichffl-pax-2014-halo-2-anniversary-lockout-lift

Shotgun Hall looks AMAZING!hffl-pax-2014-halo-2-anniversary-lockout-shotgun-hall-classichffl-pax-2014-halo-2-anniversary-lockout-shotgun-hall

Max Hoberman is quoted as saying, “Lockout was hands-down the most popular small arena-style map in Halo 2. We’re thrilled to be bringing this fan-favorite back, and are paying close attention to the details and subtleties that made the original great while also making a couple of very careful, very calculated enhancements.”

He goes on to say about the changes to the map, “Most prominent among these are a bit of cover added to the ‘Elbow,’ the long walkway connecting the grav lift to the sniper tower, and a dynamic element that should help counter an entrenched group of enemies. Of course this can be disabled in Forge for players who want a near-match of the original experience.”

A rep from MS said this about the classic map, “As one of the flagship Halo 2 tournament maps, Lockout was home to a wide host of game types, including Free-for-All, Oddball, King of the Hill, 1-Flag CTF, and of course, Team Slayer. Get ready to return to this classic battleground as Lockdown, part of the Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer experience in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.”

Man, I can’t wait for 11-11-14 to be here!!!
