This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:
This is the latest in our series of REQ blogs in which we shed light on the new Requisition (REQ) System in Halo 5: Guardians. The REQ System provides players with a steady stream of rewards for engaging in Halo 5 multiplayer.
In today’s blog I want to talk in more detail about the REQ economy and tuning, and let you know what to expect when your multiplayer career begins on October 27.
STARTING REQ BUNDLE
When you get started in Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer, we want to make sure you have a good amount of REQ content to experiment with right out of the gate. When you first launch the game, you’ll receive a starting REQ bundle that includes 54 REQ cards, as well as 7500 REQ Points (RPs). These points can be redeemed immediately for additional REQ Packs (7500RP will get you either six Bronze packs, or a combination of one Silver pack and two Bronze packs). From there, you’ll continue to earn REQ Packs simply by playing the game.
EARNING REQ PACKS
There are multiple ways to earn REQ Packs in Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer:
Leveling-Up Spartan Rank: Spartan Rank is a measure of the time you’ve spent within multiplayer. Every game you complete in multiplayer will earn XP towards levelling your Spartan Rank. The better you play, the more XP you’ll receive, helping you level up faster. Every time you level up your Spartan Rank, you get a REQ Pack as a reward.
Completing Commendations: Commendations are categorized goals to be accomplished within multiplayer. There are many types of commendations, and each one has multiple levels to attain. As an example, the “Multikill” commendation is accomplished by killing multiple enemy Spartans in quick succession. To achieve the first level of this commendation, you need to complete 3 enemy multikills. Completing a commendation level grants you an XP bonus as well as a REQ Pack reward.
Supply & Promotional Packs: These REQ Packs can be unlocked through codes included with select Halo licensed products at retail, and through various promotions.
HFFL: I’ve already shown you through toy reviews on the blog that you can get these from certain Halo Mega Bloks sets and McFarlane Halo Action Figures.
Spending REQ Points: REQ Points are an in-game currency earned by playing throughout Arena and Warzone. REQ Point (RP) earn rate is largely based on length of time played, with bonuses for individual and team performance. As a general guideline, we expect players to earn on average 2000RP for a game of Warzone, and just under 1000RP for a game of Arena.
REQ PACK COSTS
As a reminder, there are three core REQ Packs available to players in the REQ Store:
Bronze: Bronze REQ Packs include Common, single use REQs, but is likely to unlock a new permanent REQ (if you haven’t already unlocked all of them).
Silver: Silver REQ Packs include Common to Rare REQs with the added value of two new permanent REQs (if you haven’t already unlocked all of them).
Gold: Gold REQ Packs contain a large number of REQs ranging from Uncommon to Legendary. Players are guaranteed two new permanent REQs (if you haven’t already unlocked all of them).
We’ve set pricing to make sure players can afford at least one REQ Pack every other game played. So, to obtain these packs with in-game currency will cost:
• 1250RP (Bronze)
• 5000RP (Silver)
• 10000RP (Gold).
Remember, on average you’ll be earning roughly 2000RP per Warzone game played. Additionally, we also offer the option to purchase Silver and Gold packs at a cost of:
• $1.99 per Silver pack
• $2.99 per Gold pack
In addition to these three core packs, players with the Warzone REQ Bundle will receive two Premium packs each week for seven weeks, for a total of 14 Premium packs. These packs provide players with a large number of REQs and have an increased chance of receiving higher levels of rarity and more permanent REQs (if you haven’t already unlocked all of them). The Warzone REQ Bundle is included with the Limited Edition, Limited Collector’s Edition and the Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition Console Bundle. You can also choose to purchase the bundle separately for $24.99. NOTE: only one Warzone REQ Bundle can be active per player profile.
As a reminder, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of any REQ packs (including the Warzone REQ Bundle) will be added to the prize pool for the Halo World Championship we announced at gamescom, as well as supporting the release of free maps & REQ content post-launch.
NEW REQ CONTENT
One of the coolest parts of the REQ System is it gives us a vehicle to deliver new content after launch. We are committed to developing and delivering new content, including hundreds of new REQs. This steady stream of content will ensure the Halo 5: Guardians sandbox remains fresh and give you new and exciting things to covet and work towards. This is in addition to the more than 1000 REQs available at launch. Speaking of which, here is another sneak peek at some of the REQ goodness we’ll have available on October 27:
