I’m a little late with this one. I actually had the pics of this ready back in November, but it got pushed back, then accidentally forgotten.
And on with the pics! (Click pics to make BIGGER)
This Cyclops marks the LAST of what will now be called the GEN 1 Cyclops by collectors.
The packaging is nice. Shows off the figure included on the front and a little explanation on the back.
This is the graphic you will see when you carefully removed the plastic bubble from the front.
While it may look like the cyclops is built in the package, it is not. Rather it is positioned in the plastic bubble to look that way. It actually comes as shown below, along with all of the rest of the parts.
At this point in the build, it’s exactly the same as most other cyclops.
It’s not until you add this water canon that it starts to take different form.
The addition of this claw on the left arm helps to make this set unique.
Close ups of the front and back. I used the three holes in the lower back to store the three red accessories.
Orthogonal views of the cyclops.
And of the figure. While this is the same as recent Halo 4 style marines with regards to the mold of the plastic, this is a one of a kind in color. Never before has there been a pairing of Red/Black/Silver for a marine.
Summary: There is very little build time. While much of the cyclops is the same as all the rest, the water cannon and claw make it unique. The marine’s color add to that uniqueness.
Overall Rating: I give this set 8.5 out for 10 medals.
Why did I give it a 8.5 out of 10?
• At this point, we’ve got just about every iteration of Cyclops. This one wasn’t necessary. So I did take a half point off of it for that. The toy itself is fine. Really, it’s a half point off for Mega as a whole for deciding to make this non-canon cyclops/marine.
• As with all the other cyclops, it suffers from a lack of articulation. Well, it’s limited, but not great. So one point for that.
Value: At $17 it’s a bit high. Since it IS the last of this series of cyclops, it might gain a little value in the future..
Do I recommend it? I’m mixed on this. If you haven’t collected any or very few of the cyclops, then this is a pass. If you HAVE however collected most or all of the rest, then yes definitely.

Is it non-canon though? While I don’t believe Mega Bloks’ iterations of the Cyclops have been shown or mentioned in the Halo universe before, it doesn’t necessarily have to mean that they’re non-canon. I for one think it’s possible that the UNSC had/has specialized Cyclops.
If it’s not in the games/novels/comics it’s not canon. This version has never been in any of those. Heck, most of the cyclops haven’t. This one though is so far afield of where the others ones are.
