Halo 5 Forged map: Jumbo Jet

I saw a link to this via Twitter and had to share this here.

Okay, so it may have been taken form a different game, but still looks like fun to play. Not Halo enough, huh? Well, if the outside were changed to look like the spacecraft from Reach that was shot down, that would fit in perfectly. I believe this can be done with this map. Anyone up to the challenge??

Halo Community Update: A While New Ball Game

This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:

BY B IS FOR BRAVO

Greetings! The Halo community team is back on the road, currently spread throughout Germany, Australia, and those who might still be stuck in the snowy mountains of Aspen, Colorado. This specific blog is coming to you from Cologne, Germany, and has been beamed up to the satellites for worldwide perusal. If you’re reading this, the transmission has been successful.

We’ve got a quick update today, but one that covers a variety of topics which may interest you as we dig into recent updates as well as items in the works.

First things first, Infinity’s Armory launched last week just before the X Games festivities kicked off. We hope you’re enjoying Infinity’s Armory so far and are looking forward to what’s on the way.

Before we move on, a quick word about last weekend’s X Games adventures. Traveling down to Aspen to watch some of the best players in the world compete for X Games medals was truly one of the highlights of my career, and one of the most enjoyable moments for me as a Halo fan. There was a certain energy in the air that was quite unique to this competition. Perhaps it was the altitude, but more likely it was a sense of something new to fight for, on an all-new game, in front of an audience comprised of new interested parties in addition to captive veteran viewers. This was Halo 5’s first major live event in North America, and it’s my hope, whether you tuned in all weekend long on twitch or caught the recaps each day on ESPN, that you enjoyed what you saw, too. We can’t thank you enough for supporting the game we all love, and hope you’ll join us for more in the coming weeks and months. Lastly, congrats to EG and CLG, who put on some of the best finals we’ve seen in quite some time.

Canon Fodder: Judges & Jurys

This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:

BY GRIMBROTHER ONE
ISSUE 61

Greetings you narrative noodlers, and welcome back to another edition of Canon Fodder. It’s been a busy week behind the scenes lately so our lighter portions continue, but seeds are being planted, soil tended to, and rows carefully watered. Here’s hoping that the eventual fruits of our love-laden labors taste sweet upon your yearning tastebuds. Last week we tossed some much-desired attention over the Brutes’ way, highlighting the backstory behind the ultimately tragic tale of a Chieftain challenger. This week we’re switching up the normal way of things and providing a bit of a different flavor of character angle – multiple angles in fact. Oh, and there was that thing that many of you saw over the weekend. Might as well get that out of the way first, eh?

Halo Toy Review: Mega Bloks Last Man Standing II

MB grey logo

Mega Bloks Last Man Standing II

Technical Specifications:
Build Time: NONE
Set Piece Count: 85
Minifigs: Spartan JFO; “Infected” UNSC Spartans: HAZOP, Scout, EVA, Operator
Weapons: Shotgun, Green Energy Sword X4 (first generation style)
Accessories: Figure stand X4
Special Features: Infected Spartans Glow in the Dark!
Cost: $20 (I got mine through a trade) So far these have only been found in Canada.

This is a special set folks. It was to have come out in 2014. It was to be a Target exclusive.  For whatever reason, it had been pushed off the release list. Speculation is that due to Target’s going out of business in Canada, Mega Bloks had to stop any manufacturing/shipping of the set until they could find a new buyer for the exclusive.

This set is part of the now discontinued “Containment” series, which also featured the sets, Containment Armory and Containment Outpost Patrol.

I was really looking forward to this set back in 2014. The big reason why was for the JFO Spartan. At the time, it would have been the first JFO to have been released. Instead the Blue JFO from the Drone Outbreak set was released first. It should be noted that as of this writing on Mega Bloks Halo sets page that the Last Man Standing II set is still shown as being a 2014 set, even though it wasn’t officially released until 3rd quarter 2015. Never the less, I am EXTREMELY happy to have the set.

I never thought we would finally get this set in stores. As mentioned in the tech specs above, I got this through a trade. Since it’s only so far been found in Canada, it would be just a bit too expensive for me to travel there for one Mega Bloks set, LOL.

This is a reblog from HaloWaypoint (along with my commentary in BLUE):

The various teams here at 343 have been monitoring your feedback, as well as carefully studying a variety of match data, and after this evaluation have decided to lower the cost of a small set of weapons. The cost of these weapons was a little high, and we want players to be able to use them more often and without breaking the bank. Here’s a look at the new lowered weapon costs, which we’ve just released in the wild via a service side update. Continue reading
