Since the the first LAN was played in 2001, fans have created epic moments and stories in Halo multiplayer – from hometown heroes to the world’s top players. The fact that we are up to 50 issues in and still running strong is a testament to you, Halo’s diverse, passionate, and incredible fanbase. This week begins our first forays into what can be considered spoiler territory for Halo 5: Guardians. In the coming weeks, we’ll be looking closer at some of the scattered technology seen throughout the campaign and multiplayer playspaces, looking at how the Hunt the Truth Season 2 tied into the connected events of the universe, and yes, we’ll be talking soon about those Sangheili ships you’ve all be clamoring about. Spartan Games HUGE Halo Fleet Battles Expansion set!

Spartan Games Creative Director Neil Fawcett and 343 Industries’ Kenneth Peters provide some more details on the exciting release of the UNSC Punic-class Supercarrier and Covenant Assault Carrier (CAS).

First up is Kenneth Peters from 343 Industries, one of the people tasked with helping Spartan Games keep its Halo tabletop games accurate to canon. Kenneth sets the scene for where these exciting new models fit into the Halo Universe.

CAS ASSAULT CARRIER
Assault carriers are monumental symbols of Covenant power, and among the deadliest implements wielded by the Prophets in their war against humanity. Each assault carrier is a potent instrument of conversion and compliance, capable of deploying thousands of troops and numerous fighter craft, backed by an array of devastating energy projectors that can burn entire continents to ash. A single CAS is sufficient to quell all but the most pernicious heresy, rebellion, or parasite outbreak. Colossally expensive to construct and few in number, the rare loss of an assault carrier is mourned by the entire Covenant.
