Halo Cosplay and the 405th!

I like cosplay. I’ve been known to wear costumes to conventions (and elsewhere) myself. Though not as extreme as many out there. I always admire those who have the time to build elaborate costumes, especially those of Halo Spartans. Below are a couple of pics I came across over the weekend. And at the end, some pics of a Spartan Locke Helmet in progress by a member of the 405th (Halo Cosplay group).

Below is from a recent convention. Love the variety of armor as well as color!Spartans Continue reading

Looking down the barrel, a Halo Fan art piece!

My wife actually alerted me to this one. It’s by an artist by the name of Greg Horn.

Master Chief barrel look

I don’t know what medium the artist used here. Regardless, it’s pretty sharp!  What do you think of it? Reply below of e-mail me.

If anyone has any info on the artist or a contact link, please send me that info to my e-mail: sal@halofanforlife.com.

Halo Community Update

This update is from 8-14. I missed posting that and want to make sure everyone stays caught up on these. So I’m posting it now.

The following are reblog from Halo Waypoint:

BY B IS FOR BRAVO –

We have returned from gamescom – some of us with terrible jetlag, others with a mild case of the post-gamescom flu, and all with stories to tell. Whether it was talking with Halo fans who spent entire days at the Arena or Warzone booths, reuniting with friends that we had met in year’s past, or commiserating with fellow fans about the German heat, we had a blast hanging out with all of you.

Our pilgrimage to Germany also gave us an opportunity to show off some new, never-before-seen goodies, including a new multiplayer trailer, some new Arena tournament gameplay, and more. One of those mores, of course, is Halo Wars 2. Continue reading

Wie geht’s, Halo fans? By now, most of you know that the ever-epic gamescom convention is well underway in beautiful Köln, Germany, where hundreds of thousands of game fans are converging to check out their favorite titles and franchises. With no hint of bias at all, we’d certainly like to think that at least a handful or twelve made the trip to Deutschland with hopes of getting their eyes and hands on some new Halo goodness. While much of the Halo happenings at the show have centered around our competitive multiplayer experience, the fiction-focused certainly have plenty to chew on as well, so let’s begin! Well, this year’s LAN has come and gone. Games were played, prizes awarded, eats were had and everyone walked away with a few goodies as well.

This was the first batch of prizes that were sent this year. As you can see they come courtesy of Sprukits, which is a division of Bandai. I’ve reviewed these sets on the blog, so check them out.

A HUGE thanks to those folks! They were generous with their prizes and I want to thank them properly!!!

While I was preparing for the LAN, my bud Zach (@TheHaloArray) was in New York city and snapped this pic of Halo 5 Guardians prominently on display at Toys R Us in Times Square. Looking GREAT!

HUNTtheTRUTH season 2 starts recording!

Frank O’Conner let us know a few days ago that this past Saturday, the second season of HUNTtheTRUTH began recording!

Screen Shot 2015-08-24 at 9.04.49 AM

This is exciting news. Well, to me it is anyway. I really enjoyed the first season. Season 2 will feature Cobie Smolders (Avengers: SHIELD Agent Hill, How I Met Your Mother) as the lead character, Petra Janecek. This is a role she reprises from season one of HtT.

Season 2 runs all the way up to the release of Halo 5 Guardian!
