343 Industries and Dark Horse Comics are set to release a brand-new Halo® graphic novel anthology based on the massive video game franchise later this year.
Halo: Tales from Slipspace will feature all-new stories from some of the comic industry’s best—including Jonathan Wayshak, Eric Nguyen, Alex Irvine, Kody Chamberlain, Dave Crosland, John Jackson Miller, Jonathan Goff, Simon Roy, and Halo: Escalation writer Duffy Boudreau—as well as 343 Industries’ own Franchise Creative Director Frank O’Connor and Franchise Producer Tyler Jeffers. This action-packed anthology is essential reading for all Halo fans!
HFFL: I had the pleasure of meeting Tyler Jeffers back in 2012 at New York Comicon. Previous to working at 343, he was on the team at McFarlane Toys working with the Halo line. He definitely has a passion for Halo! Continue reading

Do you want to further spruce up your Halo gaming? If you don’t already have an Elite Controller (I don’t), you will soon be able to buy this cool new Halo 5 themed Component Kit for it!
Here’s a look at them in their spots on the controller itself:

I as yet do not have the exact release date. Once I do, I’ll post it here!

Before we get started, you should know that this Canon Fodder is laden with news regarding the Arbiter in Killer Instinct as opposed to in a Halo game. However, there is also a fair bit of Sangheilli Elite info in here too.

ISSUE 64 (BIT)
Greetings, fiction fans, and welcome back to Canon Fodder, your weekly look at the expansive and evolving fiction of the Halo universe. Last week we spent a bit of time looking at some of the extended lore behind new play-spaces, armors, and weapons of Halo 5: Guardians new content update – Hammer Storm – which as many of you know slammed onto the shores of your Xbox One consoles this very week. Continue reading
Okay, now that we’ve been shown an ever so slight peek as to what’s to come, let’s speculate on what those updates may actually include, shall we?
First, here is the part of the graphic that shows some of the next few updates:
Now of course each update will have a set of emblems, likely armor, and possibly weapons. So some of those areas of speculation may be skimmed over.
Now let’s take a look at each one specifically and speculate. Continue reading

Okay, you folks may have already read my detailing of this month’s update. Now comes 343’s official word on all things Hammer Storm! Needless to say this is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:
The Hammer Storm content release for Halo 5: Guardians delivers hard-hitting new multiplayer modes and REQs, as well as a new Arena map guaranteed to get any Halo multiplayer fan’s pistons fired up! For the first time in Halo 5: Guardians, you can experience fan-favorite modes like Assault, Grifball, and Fiesta Slayer, and get your Spartan’s hands on classic Halo weapons like the Halo: Combat Evolved Pistol and Gravity Hammer. Hammer Storm is now available as a free and automatic download.
This classic Halo game type has been revamped and makes its way into Halo 5: Guardians in the Hammer Storm update! The objective of Assault is simple – Take the ball to the enemy’s goal to score. It’s important to take down enemies to gain control before rushing for the ball, located in a neutral position on the map. Remember, you’ll be unable to shoot when holding the ball, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be completely defenseless. One melee is all that’s required to take down your foes with the ball, and carriers are equipped with two thrust charges to close the distance fast! Take down enemies, secure the ball, and march into opponent’s base to score points – this is Assault.
Commissioned by Lethbridge Industrial in 2555, Auriga Station served as one of the company’s preeminent research and development facilities. Fitted with the latest in UNSC fabrication systems and Sangheili-procured forges, the station could also carefully disassemble, analyze, and rebuild nearly any piece of recovered technology to aid in reverse-engineering efforts. Stripping bare Lethbridge’s vast archives of secrets and making a mockery of their counter-cyberintrusion suites, Cortana quickly repurposed the loyalties of the station’s resident AI and removed the human crew.   Last month we learned about a community member’s tragic loss. Adam (aka thecrzedspartan) and his wife Rebecca lost their daughters Trinity and Lena when their lives were claimed by an electrical fire in their family home. As a father, I can only imagine the heartache and pain caused by this loss. In the days following the tragedy, it was inspiring to see the Halo community come together to support Adam and Rebecca in a variety of ways.
In honor of Adam’s family and his daughters, Trinity and Lena, we’ve created the Spartans Never Walk Alone pack. This pack contains the True Light emblem, which is named after the first initial of each of his daughters’ names, and is the first animated emblem to come to Halo 5. All players will receive this pack as part of this month’s free update.
As well we have included a special feature in our new Arena map, Torque. As players look up and scan the stars above, the names Trinity and Lena will be visible in the night sky. These are but small gestures meant to honor Adam’s daughters, ensuring that their memories are always close at hand within the universe he loves.

HFFL: HUGE Respect to 343 for doing this! What a tribute!
So you’ve had a chance now to see the whole list of REQs coming with the Hammer Storm update. Let’s take a closer look at each section of the REQs.
First up let’s take a peek at the all NEW multiplayer map Torque!
The first look we had of this was as a concept piece of art from Sparth of 343.
