Halo movie rumor is false :(

I just found out from a tweet of Beyond Entertainment via gameinformer.com that the rumored Halo movie is indeed false.

Microsoft admitted as such. While disappointing, I’m glad they decided NOT to leave we fans hanging on this one.

Here’s the full text from the article by Ben Reeves of GameInformer:

This morning, a few rumors started to circulate that Alien director Ridley Scott was on track to produce a feature-length Halo film. According to Microsoft, this is not the case.

The Halo franchise has had a torrid affair with Hollywood, trying to kickstart a film, and coming seemingly close a few times, but never actually succeedingProduction Weekly sparked a whole new set of rumors about a possible Halo film, but according to a Microsoft spokesperson, these are just fan dreams.

“We expect you’ve seen the rumors circulating about the Halo movie,” wrote the spokesperson. ‘We’re trying to get out ahead of this one and let you know that as we’ve previously stated, we have no plans for a Halo motion picture at this time.”

Sigh…I had hopes that with the success of the Forward Unto Dawn mini-series that a movie might just be in the works. Though, I’d rather have a stellar game in the next installment than a movie. So, let’s hope we can count on that, right?

343 Artist Shae Shatz posts a new piece of cool Concept art!

The above in Shae’s words:

The concept above was done for HALO 4. It was some work for a portion of a level that was ultimately scaled down so the team could execute it within time limits. Along the course of this experience, one would encounter a series of banshees in water that was knee deep while fighting a variety of other foes.

So now I’m curious which level this was to be? There are a few places I can think of that this could have been added.

My Halo Minimalist Art Project Characters Poster.

Okay, I decided to go with a compilation of the characters in relative scale (scale might be off a little, don’t judge….LOL).

This is a FREE download. However, if you choose to donate to the blog, I would very much appreciate it. Donations can be made via the donation link to the right on the main page (via Paypal).

I went back and forth with what color to use for the background given that I had different background colors for each character. In the end, I kept coming back to white. It’s simple, and clean, yet allows the characters to be the main focus. I did add a slight gradient as you see, just to differentiate the ground from the rest, to give a slight bit of depth.

If you do share this on another site, PLEASE give me credit for the graphic. If you would put a “by-line” as: Artwork by Sal at Halofanforlife.com. That would be appreciated as well.
