Steven Spielberg’s Halo TV Show is STILL Happening!

This is a reblog from gamespot.com:

We haven’t heard much about Steven Spielberg’s Halo digital TV show in a long time, and it was nowhere to be seen during Microsoft’s E3 2015 briefing this week. But that doesn’t mean the project is canceled.

“We still are working on it,” [Bonnie] Ross told GameSpot this afternoon. “But nothing to announce at this point.”

Though Ross didn’t go into specifics about when we may finally learn more, she did provide a general overview for how Microsoft approaches transmedia projects. Continue reading

Canon Fodder: Under Locke & Keynote

By GrimBrother One – ISSUE 29

I remember sitting in the audience at the Xbox Keynote presentation at E3 2013 watching the wind passing over the dunes of an alien world, kicking up sand and stone in its wake. I remember a hulking hooded figure lumbering heavily – yet almost effortlessly – across the landscape. I remember something stirring in me, crying out that this wasn’t just another game trailer. I remember seeing an all-too-familiar Mjolnir gauntlet emerge out from the folds of a tattered cloak, and watching a lifeless AI storage chip tumble from a hero’s hands. I remember a monstrous and ancient construct razing the surrounding rock when it rose from beneath the ground, representing a mystery that felt might take an eternity to solve. I remember losing my mind. Continue reading

The Halo 5 Guardians Requistion (REQ) system. A somewhat simplified explanation.

I’m writing this from a fan perspective. So please understand I might make some mistakes. What is listed below is what I’ve gathered from around the web, much of which was revealed during E3 these last few days.

What is the REQ system?
It is the system used to earn weapons, vehicles or aesthetic to your armor or guns through REQ points in Halo 5 Guardians.

REQ Points/Packs
The quick and easy explanation is that the REQ Points  (Rpts) are the currency of the system, while REQ Packs (Rpks) are the reward.
Rpts are rewarded after multiplayer games, either Arena or War Zone. These can be redeemed in multiplayer for Rpks.
As far as I can tell, you can only redeem your Rpts during gameplay. Which does make sense in a way. Though for aesthetic things, I’d like to redeem those at any time. That is a question already posed to 343. I’ll post their response when/if they give one to that. Continue reading

Req Packs in Halo 5: Guardians

This is a reblog from HaloWaypoint:

I’m seeing a lot of questions on Twitter and in forums about the new Requisition System (REQ System) in Halo 5: Guardians. The REQ System rewards players across both our multiplayer experiences. Players will earn REQ Points after each match in Arena or Warzone multiplayer, which can then be redeemed for REQ Packs. So what goodies are in REQ Packs? Each pack contains a variety of requisitions (REQs) in the form of unlockable weapons and armors, skins, assassination animations, and more.  In addition, players will receive REQ Packs as rewards when they level up their Spartan Rank (SR) and complete Commendations across multiplayer.
