Halo at NASCAR

Okay, if you missed it folks, I’ve found several images on the net (apologies that I don’t have the names of who took the photos, for proper credit) of the cars, drivers a certain couple of Spartans and even Kiki Wolfkill at this past weekend’s NASCAR race.

HFFL’s Halo 5 Guardians Spartan Company!

With the recent announcement of Spartan Companies for Halo 5 Guardians, you just had to know that I would set one up for HFFL.

So here’s a little about the official HFFL company…

As per rules on Waypoint, you need to have at minimum 4 persons to constitute an active Spartan Company. This happened very quickly for HFFL and I got the following message on Waypoint.

Spartan Companies in Halo 5 (And HFFL has one!)

This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:

Over the years, Halo has enjoyed, or endured, depending on your perspective, all sorts of socially cohesive tools. But back in the day, through the moist mists of time to 2001, Halo wasn’t even online. You see back in 2001, Social Media referred to a dirty old newspaper that four hobos had slept in. Halo 5 Original Soundtrack available for temporary listening on SoundCloud FOR FREE!

This is a reblog from XBOX.com:

HFFL: Oh, first let me say, I’ve listened to it a few times now. It’s FANTASTIC!!!

Whether it’s the slow string build-up in “Jaws” or the grand blast of fanfare in “Star Wars,” music can not only inspire and captivate fans, but often help define entire franchises in entertainment. However, few franchises in entertainment – and even fewer in gaming – approach the level of prestige and cultural relevance as Halo, with millions of fans growing up to the sounds of Gregorian Monks chanting mysteriously in the background, and heart-pounding cellos pushing players to dive into battle.

It’s those epic gameplay moments paired with exquisitely crafted music that defines what Halo means to many fans, and Halo 5: Guardians has these moments in spades. If you can’t hold out to launch, 343 Industries is making the entire Halo 5: Guardians soundtrack available to stream for an entire week. Continue reading

Halo Community Update: Multiplayer Merits

This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint: (Before you go any further, be forewarned that there may be minor spoilers below. If you don’t want to know anything of Halo 5, I suggest you skip this article until after the game comes out officially on the 27th.)

BY B IS FOR BRAVO –

Over the past week, you’ve gotten your eyes on the launch trailer for Halo 5: Guardians, learned about playlists and API support, received orders for launch night, and perhaps started to create a digital to-do list with the reveal of upcoming achievements. But, with just 11 days until launch, that’s not all.

Earlier today, Josh Holmes, with the help of the multiplayer team, detailed new info about Halo 5’s Competitive Skill Rating (CSR), Seasons, matchmaking, and the almighty banhammer. Below, we’ll showcase each of the ranking levels within CSR, which has been updated and overhauled since the beta. For the full breakdown and dev commentary, head here. Continue reading

Enter the Arena: Competitive Skill Ranking

This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:

By Josh Holmes

As we prepare for the game’s release in just over a week, I’d like to focus this blog on the Arena portion of the multiplayer experience for Halo 5: Guardians. Arena is our pure competitive experience in Halo 5, celebrating the legacy of Halo multiplayer. Arena allows players to go head-to-head in a game of skill where everyone starts on a level playing field. Each player begins with the same weapons and abilities and vies for possession of power weapons and power-ups by maintaining map control throughout the match. Last December, we held a beta for Arena almost a year from launch to get the game into the hands of Halo fans everywhere. Since then we’ve worked tirelessly to address player feedback and refine the game with the goal of delivering the ultimate competitive multiplayer shooter when we launch on October 27.

Joining me today are Multiplayer Design Director Kevin Franklin, along with Multiplayer Designers Max Grossman and Quinn DelHoyo to share more detail about the Arena multiplayer experience in Halo 5: Guardians. Continue reading
