The packaging is quite nice here. A unique design for the front. The back of the card shows what accessories are included.
The contents of the packaging are shown below. There is a small baggie of parts hidden behind the Mega Construx Halo graphic on the bubble of the card. You get quite a nice variety of things here. • Two special colored and named figure stands • Gravity Hammer • “Brute” Rifle (This hasn’t been officially named as such. I’m just using that term to differentiate between it and the Assault Rifle.) • Assault Rifle • Energy Sword • x2 Spike Grenades
In the baggie (shown above) you get: • “Brute” Pistol (Again, this isn’t official, just a temporary name) • Pistol • Attachable scope for Assault Rifle • x2 Frag grenades
The scope slides onto the AR. A nice fit. Do be careful not to lose, as this is a very tiny piece!
The Brute Pistol has some printing on the ammo drum. A series of mustard color ovals can be seen. It should be noted that this drum can spin.
The insert sheet shows how the figures are put together. Thankfully, that’s already done for you though. On the back side again, the accessories included.
Let’s take a look at those figures now!
Master Chief, now in his Halo Infinite Armor looks quite striking. Emblazoned on the left chest plate is “117”, Master Chief’s Spartan number. There is a very slight silver wash in places. Nice touch!
Here are the orthogonal views of Chief:
And now for the Brute Warrior. This is a very good figure. LOTS of detail in the armor. A nice mix of dark grey and dark red to denote the Banished look. The loin cloth is slightly bendable, so it shouldn’t easily break off. Again, another nice bit of attention to detail there.
Orthogonal views of the Brute Warrior. Something to make note here. The shoulder armor is the same as that of the Arbiter. That is NOT to say however, that this Brute got the armor from the Arbiter. Likely rather that Mega is reusing an armor piece. Regardless of why, I very much like it. The Brute looks sufficiently bulky here.
And finally the pair together! How will these two come to fight in Halo Infinite? Well, it’s not long now, before we find out.
Summary: A fun little 2-pack. It features Chief in his new armor. Also what is likely an army building Brute. LOTS of accessories to choose from to make your own adventure.
Overall Rating: I give this set 10 out of 10 medals. Why did I give it a 10 out of 10? • Two great figures and a plethora of accessories. • two color coded and named figure stands.
Here’s my opinion on the break down of the value of this set. (In US dollars) • Each figure with a weapon and the stand is worth $4 for a total of $8. • The additional four weapons I put at $2 total. • The four grenades (2-spike and 2-frag) I put at a total of $1. TOTAL: $11 (before tax and in U.S. dollars)Â
Given that the set costs $10 US before tax, I find this set slightly above value. Then when you add in the custom printed card front graphics, the value is even better!
Do I recommend it?  ABSOLUTELY! New Master Chief and a very well done Banished Brute. More than enough accessories and two special figure stands. What’s not to love!

Okay, first things first, yes, it’s a little strange of a title for the set. However… THIS is the replacement/reissue of the Builder’s Forge set that barely saw distribution. I for one am VERY happy to see it released as I had been asking Mega (outside of social media) to re-release the set.
At a robust 450 pieces, the set should retail for between $40-50. There are several alternate/rebuilds with this set!
The instructions included show you how to make this small base, a mongoose and a mini pelican.
The alternate build allows you to expand on the base and you can rebuild parts to make a mini warthog!
I really like the holoboard included in the set!
As seen, the Builder’s Box comes with two Spartans. A Red Gungnir and a Blue EVA. Note the old style energy sword the Gungnir Spartan is holding! We haven’t seen that one in a very long time!
Here is the official text blurb from Mega about this set:

This creative construction set is the perfect tool to hone your training, soldier. Ideal for Probuilders, ages 8 and up What’s in the box? 450 pieces 2 micro action figures Set number: GPT03
Now, I will say, it does look much like a hollowed out Brute Prowler. The inner workings of the gear mechanism look cool.
This set gives us a Spartan, 2 Brute Warriors and a Grunt Conscript.
As with the other sets from the Summer 2020 lineup, this has an alternate build as well! When O first saw the ALT build, I thought it looked much like the skitterer from Halo Wars 2. Perhaps that was the intention? Also, you can build a Banished barrier. Those both definitely fit within the Banished aesthetic.
Here is the official text blurb from Mega about this set:
SKIFF INTERCEPT™ Features • Halo Infinite inspired Banished Skiff vehicle building set with rear cockpit, missile launcher, and 360-degree turret that spins when its exhaust is turned • 2-in-1 building toy: Choose to build the Skiff or a walker vehicle and fortifying wall • 4 highly collectible micro action figures, Spartan MK VII, 2 Brute Warriors and a Grunt Conscript, with authentic detail, 12 points of articulation, display stands and interchangeable weapon accessories • Ideal for ages 8 and up, this building set features detailed authenticity to strengthen creative thinking skills • 452 bricks and pieces combine with all Mega Construx building sets and are compatible with other name brands Product Description Take your troops where they’re needed with this Banished Skiff construction set. This playset also includes 4 micro action figures that can be placed inside your vehicle of choice. Relocate to where you’re needed most. Ideal for Probuilders, ages 8+ What’s in the box 452 bricks and pieces 4 micro action figures Set number: GNB21
With 452 pieces, I look for this set to be between $40-50.
The next preview is an UNSC Spartan Armor pack. I’m a bit partial to this one as it’s similar colors to my favorite sports teams.
This set includes 2 Spartans and a Banished Warrior. The Spartans are HIGHLY customizable, with 30 accessories to share between them!
As you can see in the above pic, there is a Banished crate as well. One thing I’m happy the Mega is doing more of is including the muzzle flashes for guns. This adds a depth of realism to the figures.
Let’s take a look at those included accessories! There are two extra front torso armor pieces and one each extra back armor. With what we already have to choose from, this is a fantastic amount of torso armor customization.
In the next bubble of accessories, there are weapons and armor. Looks to be two sets each of shoulder armor, the backplates as mentioned before and a couple of weapons. The pistol, seen in the Halo Heroes 12 series is back again. Note it’s ammo drum is removable.
The next bubble includes 4 helmets. Beyond the Grenadier and Recon displayed on the figures, we also get an Operator, EVA, Gungnir and Commando helmets. Really a good selection here!
And finally the last bubble has a few grenades, pistols and various muzzle flashes.
This set retails for $15. At first I thought that might be too high. But when you look at the amount of accessories and the added figure, I think we’re getting a good value. I can’t wait to get this one in hand! I’m probably going to buy several this set so I can make several armor customizations.
Here is the official text blurb from Mega about the UNSC Spartan Armor Pack:
UNSC SPARTAN ARMOR PACK Features • 3 highly collectible micro action figures, 2 UNSC Spartans and 1 Brute Warrior, with authentic detail, 12 points of articulation, display stands and interchangeable weapon accessories • Halo Infinite inspired building set includes a loaded equipment cache with armors, helmets, weapon accessories, and a storage box • Ideal for ages 8 and up, this building set features detailed authenticity to strengthen creative thinking skills • Bricks combine with all Mega Construx building sets and are compatible with other name brands Product Description Suit up, soldier. Equip your UNSC Spartan fireteam from an armor cache so versatile it’ll feel like you have an infinite number of modifications to choose from. This construction set features 3 combat-ready micro action figures, Spartan Grenadier, Spartan Recon, and a Brute Warrior. Gear up with numerous armors, helmets, weapon accessories, and more – then take the enemy down. Ideal for Probuilders, ages 8+ What’s in the box? 3 micro action figures 106 pieces Set number: GRN07
This set is quite a departure from sets in the past. It’s more an homage to the Halo section as seen at Halo Outpost last year than anything else. Perhaps, just this section is where much of the action will take place in Infinite? At any rate, there is something uniquely cool about this set.
For one, we get to build a very nice stand for it. This is definitely not the norm for a Halo Mega Construx set. I’m LIKING it very much!
The ring section is built from three smaller sections. Each having their own visible differences in topography.
The set is held aloft the base by a small series of pins and clasps.
Here are a couple more views of the set from different angles.
Now, just incase you are wondering, “Can I build a full ring out of multiples of these?” The answer is yes, sort of… IF my math is right, the angle at the end of the section is 27°. This would mean you would need four full sets and a fifth partial set. However, the ring would be incomplete. Three grey sections make up one set. the section in red is one from a fifth set. The gap is created due to the difference in angle. Had the angle for the end piece been exactly 30°, we would have a nice clean ring to make from this set. Now please, take THAT with a grain of salt as my math may be incorrect. We’ll have to hear word from Mega on this.
At any rate, I plan on getting 4/5 of the set to make a fuller ring. I’ll use pieces from the bases to fill in as needed.
Here is the official text blurb from Mega for the Forerunner Ring Installation set:
FORERUNNER RING INSTALLATION Features • Forerunner Ring Installation mini-scale model building set • Micro diorama measures approx. 5- x 5- x 7-inches when assembled • Ideal for ages 8 and up, this building set features detailed authenticity to strengthen creative thinking skills • Bricks combine with all Mega Construx building sets and are compatible with other name brands Product Description Travel into deep space and explore a ring-shaped super weapon with this Forerunner installation. Based on mountainesque terrain seen in Halo Infinite, this building set features authentic details like trees, river, mountain and, of course, Forerunner tech. Display it at home, at the office, or wherever it fits. Celebrate your Halo fandom with this unique, buildable collectors’ set. Ideal for Probuilders, ages 8+ What’s in the box? 301 pieces Set number: GRN05
The Defense Point Showdown set appears to be mostly a Banished version of an Anti-Air turret. As you can see by the box, the set contains 782 pieces.
It also includes a Marine, Master Chief, a Brute (Possibly Hyperius) and a Grunt. TBH, I do not know where the name Hyperius comes from. If that info is stated on the back of the box, I can not confirm it, yet.
This new Brute “Hyperius” seems to be a Spartan killer. That is, if you believe what’s on his armor. It looks like he may be wearing a Spartan helmet. That of the Scout variety. The very same that Spartan Palmer wears. Also, heavily noted in social media thus far, is his use of Spartan Locke’s helmet as shoulder armor. It’s unmistakeable that it’s the same version. The only thing missing is the yellow arrow decal. That however could have been worn off in battle.
So this leads me to wonder, what or whom else has this Brute possibly killed? In the trailer, the pilot Brohammer says “we lost”. Does this mean Infinity has been lost or at least heavily damaged? Did the Banished do that? If we go to the audio message that Halo released earlier in the week, a Brute is heard saying “Humanity will burn, their brazen defiance will be all but a memory.” Is THIS the brute saying that message? Hmm…
As we can also see, this set comes with a Mongoose. The legs of the turret look somewhat positionable. It also seems there is an action feature that allows for parts of the legs to pop off, as if bale damaged.
As with the other Halo Summer 2020 sets, this too has an alternate build.
Looks like some kind of cool Brute fighter and a small support ship that the Grunt pilots.
Here is the official text blurb from Mega’s site about this set:
DEFENSE POINT SHOWDOWN™ Features • Large Halo Infinite inspired Banished AA turret building set with 4 poseable legs under its platform, a mounted, spinning cannon and dual-missile launcher, and push-button canister launchers • 2-in-1 building toy: Choose to build the turret or a large fighter plane and utility craft • 4 highly collectible micro action figures, Master Chief, a UNSC Marine, Hyperius and a Grunt Assault, with authentic detail, 12 points of articulation, display stands and interchangeable weapon accessories • Ideal for ages 8 and up, this building set features detailed authenticity to strengthen creative thinking skills • 782 bricks and pieces combine with all Mega Construx building sets and are compatible with other name brands Product Description Infiltrate a Banished defense point. Modeled after its appearance in Halo Infinite, this large anti-aircraft turret features poseable legs and a spinning cannon that fires 2 missiles at once. Hit the canisters to launch them from the turret’s base and create an explosive counterattack. Or choose to build a large fighter plane and utility craft. This construction set also includes 4 micro action figures that can be placed inside your vehicle of choice. Fight the decisive battle. Ideal for Probuilders, ages 8+ What’s in the box 782 bricks and pieces 4 micro action figures Set number: GNB27
With this set having 782 pieces, I see this being $75-80 U.S. retail price.
Thankfully, we are getting some neat little figure packs as well. This UNSC Marine Gear pack is one of those.
This set is rumored to be $15 U.S. at retail.
As you can see in this set, we get a male and a female marine as well as a Red Elite. Is this a Banished Elite? Likely, though the description for the set calls it a mercenary.
Note the muzzle flash. There appears to be a few of these as accessories in the pack.
Also of note are the interchangeable helmets and add on gear such as pouches.
Let’s take a little bit of a closer look at this accessories on the front of the package. Here we have a few more torso armors as a communications backpack.
Next are an assortment of helmets along with a standard marine back pack (which we haven’t seen in a LONG time). What I like about the helmets are that there is a different color visor. NICE!
There are a LOT of additional pouches, thigh straps and other armor. There IS a crate included in this set to store all of this stuff. It’s a bit small though. SO we’ll see if this all fits in, when I get the set in-hand to fully review.
And finally, this pocket of nades, knives and muzzle flashes.
Here is the official text blurb from Mega’s site about this set: UNSC MARINE GEAR PACK Features • 3 highly collectible micro action figures, 2 UNSC Marines and 1 Elite Mercenary, with authentic detail, 12 points of articulation, display stands and interchangeable weapon accessories • Halo Infinite inspired building set includes a loaded equipment cache with armors, helmets, weapon accessories and a storage box • Ideal for ages 8 and up, this building set features detailed authenticity to strengthen creative thinking skills • Bricks combine with all Mega Construx building sets and are compatible with other name brands Product Description Suit up, soldier. Gear up with numerous armors, helmets, weapon accessories, and more – then take the enemy down. Ideal for Probuilders, ages 8+ What’s in the box? 3 micro action figures 110 pieces Set number: GRN08
A pic of this set just made the rounds last week and now here we are with a few more shots of it!
While this set is more rounded than it’s predecessor. I happen to like it. The front of this Banshee looks like it can take more damage. Also, note the back wing. Is that a NEW inverse rounded piece? I think so!
This set, like it’s predecessor also comes with a Spartan and an Elite. This Elite appears to be the same as the one in the Heroes 12 line. Though it is more off-white instead of grey. I’m VERY curious about the choice of Spartan here as it has hints of Jun from Noble team with the Ghillie suit. No confirmation at all, but it would be SWEET if Jun made his return to Halo in Infinite as a Spartan again!
With this set having 218 pieces, I look for it to retail at $20 U.S.
As with all the summer 2020 sets, this too has an alternate build. It’s a Skimmer! I kind of dig it!
Here is the official text blurb from Mega’s site about the Banished Breakout set:
BANSHEE BREAKOUT Features • Halo Infinite inspired Banished Banshee vehicle building set with dual missile launchers, hidden compartment that opens, and clear rod with baseplate for display • 2-in-1 building toy: Choose to build the Banshee or a skimmer • 2 highly collectible micro action figures, Spartan Recon and an Elite Ultra, with authentic detail, 12 points of articulation, display stands, and interchangeable weapon accessories • Ideal for ages 8 and up, this building set features detailed authenticity to strengthen creative thinking skills • 218 bricks and pieces combine with all Mega Construx building sets and are compatible with other name brands Product Description Back the Banished in this armored Banshee. Speed towards combat and cover your troops. Ideal for Probuilders, ages 8+ What’s in the box 218 bricks and pieces 2 micro action figures Set number: GNB24
The third of the originally shown Infinite sets from New York Toy Fair this year and now with more pics is the “Pelican Inbound” set! This set boasts 2024 pieces and is rumored to retail for $149.99 U.S.
As previously seen, the Pelican set can also be built into a walled structure. Additionally, there is a large rocket and a forklift!
The set comes with the “Brohammer” pilot, Master Chief and a Banished styled Hunter.
There are some really cool features to this set. As seen below, you can pivot the wings up and down as well as away from the body.
This results in the Pelican opening up like this so you can get to the inside easier.
The Pelican has some great bulk to is as you would expect.
As well, there are several small details that really add to the play value and in-game comparison of the set.
In particular, I like the below shot as it’s a great recreation of the one from the trailer last year.
This Pelican is unlike any build before it. This in the way it separates. As well, note the wheels on the underside near the nose.
Here is the official text blurb from Mega’s site about the Pelican Inbound set:
PELICAN INBOUND™ Features • Large Halo Infinite inspired UNSC Pelican aircraft building set with poseable wings, cockpit hatch, working landing gear, and a secret opening that reveals a hidden interior • 2-in-1 building toy: Choose to build the Pelican or a UNSC compound with fortification barrier, forklift vehicle, space rocket, and more • 3 highly collectible micro action figures, Master Chief, The Pilot, and a Hunter, with authentic detail, 12 points of articulation, display stands and interchangeable weapon accessories • Ideal for ages 8 and up, this building set features detailed authenticity to strengthen creative thinking skills • 2024 bricks and pieces combine with all Mega Construx building sets and are compatible with other name brands Product Description The Pelican is on its way. Or choose to build a huge UNSC compound with fortification barrier, forklift vehicle, space rocket, and more. This construction set also includes 3 micro action figures that can be placed inside your vehicle of choice. Prepare your heroes for battle. Ideal for Probuilders, ages 8 and up What’s in the box? 2024 pieces 3 micro action figures Set number: GNB28
Another of the initial three sets shown back at Toyfair this year, the Recon Getaway set begins us some great army builders and a 2 in 1 vehicle!
to start, we see that the set includes 2 slightly different styled marines, a Grunt minor and an Elite minor, as well as a Mongoose.
The set is rumored to retail for $15, which I think is right on par for what is offered here. Four figures and a small vehicle!
The mongoose can also be rebuilt into this craft. Now, is this a water skimmer? A small airspeeder? Either way, it looks fun. You can bet with all of these 2 in 1 vehicles that I’ll be showing both versions for your amusement and interest.
Here is the official text blurb about the set from Mega:
RECON GETAWAY™ Features • Halo Infinite inspired UNSC Mongoose vehicle building set with rolling wheels that turn with the handlebars and room for 2 figures • 2-in-1 building toy: Choose to build the Mongoose or a scout speeder • 4 highly collectible micro action figures, 2 UNSC Marines, an Elite Mercenary, and a Grunt Conscript, with authentic detail, 12 points of articulation, display stands and interchangeable weapon accessories • Ideal for ages 8 and up, this building set features detailed authenticity to strengthen creative thinking skills • 123 bricks and pieces combine with all Mega Construx building sets and are compatible with other name brands Product Description Roll into combat – or make a daring getaway – on the UNSC Mongoose. Just yesterday (7-1-2020) Mega finally released images and information with regards to their Summer Halo lineup. (I’d have posted it yesterday, but I’m during a kidney stone that has had me laid up for 3 days straight. In fact, I’m posting this in between when I normally take pain meds, so I can get this out to you all in a timely fashion. Pain be damned!!
Okay, let’s get started.
Pics are all from Mega’s official website.
This Warthog set comes with 4 figures. Chief, a Marine and 2 Jackals “Freebooters”. Of note with the warthog is the new suspension. Just look at the under front of the warthog to see what I mean.
The Jackals look to be to similar to the Bungie era Jackals. More bird like and less dinosaur like of the latter 343 era. I’m loving the detail on the Marine.
There is an alternate build to this set as you can see below. Now you can make the Warthog a boat as well as have pieces left over for a jet pack for Chief. No word if these are in-game assets or just Mega having liberties with their build. Either way, it’s pretty cool.
Here is the official text blurb from Mega regarding the Warthog Rally set: Features • Halo Infinite inspired UNSC Warthog vehicle building set with rolling wheels, cockpit, pivoting turret and working wheelbase suspension • 2-in-1 building toy: Choose to build the Warthog or a watercraft and jetpack • 4 highly collectible micro action figures, Master Chief, UNSC Marine and 2 Jackal Freebooters, with authentic detail, 12 points of articulation, display stands and interchangeable weapon accessories • Ideal for ages 8 and up, this building set features detailed authenticity to strengthen creative thinking skills • 315 bricks and pieces combine with all Mega Construx building sets and are compatible with other name brands
Product description Feel the terrain like never before with this upgraded Warthog. Modeled after its appearance in Halo Infinite, the Warthog features a new buildable suspension that reacts to the ground underneath it. Or leave land behind by choosing to build a watercraft and jetpack. This construction set also includes 4 micro action figures that can be placed inside your vehicle of choice. Rally the troops, solider – it’s time to prepare for battle.
Ideal for Probuilders, ages 8 and up What’s in the box? 315 pieces 4 micro action figures Set number: GNB25
With this set having 315 pieces, I’m going to guess the retail to be around $30 U.S.
Technical Specifications: Build Time: 0-1 minute building, depending on figure. Really, only the Marine needs any kind of “building”. Set Piece Count: Varies from 21 to 27 depending on figure. See pics below for exact count for each figure. Minifigures: Spartan Recon, Spartan Mark VII, Spartan Gungnir, Elite Ultra, Brute Warrior, Marine Sniper Weapons: Respective to the order of figures above: Assault Rifle, To Be Named Later (TBNL), TBNL, Plasma Rifle, TBNL, Sniper Accessories: Figure Stand (each), Marine Sniper ONLY: Backpack, Helmet, canister, pouch Special Features: Reflective paint on figure stand Cost: $5 US (Mass Retail) Each
Addendum: Due to multiple people infringing on my copyright of these pictures, I must now state the following: DO NOT STEAL THESE PICS! You didn’t pay for the figures, nor take the photos, edit them, nor write this review! Sigh…why do people do this? Actually, I can answer that. They want credit for new stuff appearing on their timelines. No one except the official Halo and the official Mega Construx accounts have permission to repost. NOT ONE PERSON! Perpetrators will be reported to source platforms/apps and there may be possible legal action. Folks, it is RARE when I get the scoop and am first to post something new. Respect that.
And on with the pics! (Click pics to make BIGGER)
Here are all 6 carded figures.
Here is one of the card backs. Note that Mega has gone to printing only black ink on the card back and not using a gloss finish. This is no doubt a cost saving measure. I don’t mind as we typically do not display carded figures with the card backs visible.
Technical Specifications: Build Time:Â 1-2 minutes building each figure. Set Piece Count:Â varies by figure Minifigures: Accessories: Special Features:Â Removable Armor Cost:Â $3-3.50 US (Mass Retail)Â ONE figure per pack OR Ship parts in the case of the CCS Cruiser
