Halo Product Review: Metal Earth Master Chief Helmet

When I went to New York Toy Fair this year, I had the pleasure to meet not only the designer, but the owners of Fascinations as well. While taking with both of them about their Halo line, we discussed possible new models to come. During this conversation, the designer was kind enough to offer me one each of their Halo models to review on the blog. This is the first of 4 planned reviews for Fascinations line of Halo Metal Earth models.

Now before I get started, I need to say that this is the first time I’ve worked with laser cut models at this scale. I chose the Master Chief Helmet set to start with since I thought it might be the easiest one.

I learned very quickly that this is the kind of model you MUST take your time with. As such you can see below that it took me 3 1/2 hours to build.

Technical Specifications:
Build Time: 3 1/2 hours
Special Features: N/A
Cost: $13-15 retail

Welcome back, canonballers. In case you missed it, in last week’s issue we answered several of your deep-diving lore questions, and one about moas. If you were too distracted by all the g-lore-ious info in our Community Q&A, you might have missed the fact that we also announced that the Second Story content for Halo: Nightfall is now available as standalone content in the Halo Channel. This week, we’re going to dive a little bit deeper into what this content is, and how it sits in the universe.

Halo Toy Review: Mega Bloks Fireteam Eagle

Breaking from the norm here for a minute. I need to thank one of my fellow local Halo fans. He got this and the Sierra Squad sets for me. It was a surprise. He said the store was having a sale, saw that I hadn’t reviewed these on the site yet and knows of the plumbing issues at my home that are causing havoc on our finances, so he picked them up for me. That I know of there isn’t any sales going on at the major stores, so I take it that he is just being very nice. A HUGE thanks Dave. I’m holding his last name confidential as that’s his personal business. Bro, I owe you, TWO!    THANKS!!!

Okay, on with the review!

Dark Horse comics, Halo ships!

This was part of my coverage for New York Toy Fair. However, I held on to this as I was waiting on some official info from Dark Horse themselves for the product.

So here now are the ships that Dark Horse will be making available later this year and moving forward.

As you can see, the first three ships to be made are a UNSC Pelican, a Covenant CCS Cruiser and the UNSC Infinity.
