[Mitake machine] Halo 5 Forge Map

I saw this via a Facebook post from the Halo Podcast Evolved group. HAD to repost it here!

That is some MIGHTY scripting there!

Here is the description from Youtube:
This map was made in Forge mode of HALO 5.
BLUE (one person) must steer the machine to fight with the RED .
Two cores are in one arm. There are four cores in total. Visor breaks when all cores are broken.
Destroy the core in the helmet (or destroy the core top of the head when the machine falls down) Red can fight with the driver. Defeat!

Wow, I have to really try this out! Looks VERY menacing!

Ghosts of Meridian 2nd Map reveal and MORE!

This is a reblog from Gamespot:

The next free content update for Halo 5: Guardians, Ghosts of Meridian, is coming out in April, but you don’t have to wait until then to see the add-on’s new maps. GameSpot is pleased today to be able to reveal the expansion’s new maps: Skirmish at Darkstar and Tyrant. We also spoke with the designers at developer 343 Industries, who told us how the maps were made and gave us some tips and tricks for playing on them.

Warzone Turbo NOW LIVE!

This is an AWESOME reblog from Halo Waypoint!

warzone-turbo-banner-951077c711f8405696b5d4231bef18c7

This morning, a special little game mode we like to call Warzone Turbo landed on the matchmaking shores of Halo 5: Guardians. What is this “Warzone Turbo” thing? We thought you’d never ask! Actually, we knew you would – which is why we grabbed Lead Multiplayer Designer Lawrence Metten to give you the inside scoop.

Warzone Turbo is fiesta-esque mayhem on a gigantic scale, where you are instantly placed at Level 9 as soon as your Home Base is secure, and are imbued with near-instantaneous energy regeneration. Everything is fair game as players have access to their entire REQ inventory for the full duration of the match.

Funny enough, originally we had no plans to ever release Warzone Turbo. We created the game type at the request of our test team so that they could more efficiently test Warzone features and functionality without having to wait to level up or refill energy. Then one day we made the “mistake” of giving the mode a whirl during our afternoon studio playtest. It was incredibly chaotic and surprisingly a ton of fun to play, which inevitably led to a long and drawn out internal discussion that went something like this:

“Should we ship this?”

“We can’t not ship this!”

After a bit of extra polish, a couple tuning tweaks, and a handful of scattered adjustments later and Warzone Turbo is ready for your enjoyment. I look forward to jumping into the playlist and joining the pandemonium with you all this weekend!

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Lawrence. Warzone Turbo is available now until Monday morning, April 4th, so make sure you take part in the furious fracas while you can! And be sure to let us know what you think about Warzone Turbo in this dedicated feedback thread on Waypoint’s forums.

We’ll see you online, Spartans!

HFFL: Okay…I know what I”m doing all weekend!

Halo Mega Bloks Strategy Game

Recently found via the inter webs, comes news of a Halo Mega Bloks Strategy Game. Hmm, interesting.

Here’s the info via EntertainmentEarth.com:

Bring the massively popular Halo franchise to life on your tabletop with the Mega Bloks Halo Strategy Game! Command a fire team of 3 Spartan commandoes with the goal of outmaneuvering, outshooting, and outsmarting your opponent in a fierce battle for control. Dominate strategically important zones or knock out your opponent’s Spartans to win! The Mega Bloks Halo Strategy Game comes with over 180 Mega Bloks pieces including exclusive mini figures, weapons, dice, rangefinder, and scoring blocks. See you on the tabletop, Spartan!

The price for this is listed as $32.99 and is available May, 2016.

This in likelihood will be something on the order of the LEGO board games (though of course with the Mega Bloks license instead…)

Once more information becomes available, I’ll post it here.

Canon Fodder: Close Quarters

This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:

By GrimBrother One
ISSUE 68

Welcome back, folks, and thanks for joining us for another round of your favorite Fodder. Last week, we took an early look at the fiction behind the upcoming Warzone map, Skirmish at Darkstar, chatted canonical competition, and more. This week, we’re going to take a look at some of the sweet new loot that will be accompanying our next content update for Halo 5: Guardians, Ghosts of Meridian. Up today is a Mjolnir variant for the up-close-and-personal crowd, a particularly lovely and lethal gravity hammer, and some highly modified UNSC materiel. Before we dive in too far, I do want to give personal congratulations to Counter Logic Gaming and its members – LETHUL, ROYAL 2, SNAKEBITE, and FROSTY – on taking the Halo World Championship last weekend, as well as a cool one million dollars. And congrats to fan-hero Brett “Naded” Leonard for taking home the series MVP, and to each and every team for bringing their best to make the Halo WC and absolutely outstanding event. Hopefully, as Halo fans, you’ll take an opportunity to celebrate them as well, because trust me, as competitive Halo continues to grow and succeed, we will all benefit. But back to business, let’s lore!

HFFL is now streaming on Twitch!

I’ve finally decided to start streaming Halo. Been doing this for about a week now. From now on, my plans are to stream every time I’m playing Halo.

To check out the stream, go to twitch.tv/halofanforlife.

I mostly play ion the evenings Eastern Standard Time.

As for the chat during the stream, I likely won’t be able to respond to that so quickly as I”m using an iPad to view it while gaming. The text is tiny, so it’s a bit hard for me to read it. I’ll do my best until a better option is made available though. If you chat via XBOX’s Twitch app, I won’t be able to see that at all as I don’t like having apps snapped. It takes up too much of the screen for my tastes.

A Closer Look: Ghosts of Meridian REQs

Now that the (blurred) image of the Ghosts of Meridian REQs has been released, let’s take a closer look at what we’re getting. (Click graphics to make bigger)

We start with the maps. We’ve got a glimpse of Skirmish at Darkstar. The blurred image to the right is the new Multiplayer map. Tried as I might, I couldn’t ‘unfilter’ that part of the image to see what the map is called or what it looks like. 4-16 Maps
So the only clue we have to go on is if it relates to the name of the update. There are a few places within the campaign that could work as a multiplayer map. We know 343 isn’t keen on giving us campaign exact areas as MP maps. However, the ares I think that could be used or at least heavily taken from are, 1) the area where the ONI Prowler has landed; 2) any number of the glassed areas that have buildings, vehicles; 3) the base where we do the walk through mission; 4) the first outside area, just after we’ve come out of the base. That area is HUGE and would be an excellent MP map, IMO. Continue reading

Halo Community Update: Community Battlegrounds

This is a reblog from HaloWaypoint:

BY B IS FOR BRAVO

Greetings! Welcome Back. Glad you’re here. We’ve got a quick update today, but some good stuff inside. Let’s dig in.

We’ve returned from the Halo World Championship, which was a glorious celebration of fine-tuned multiplayer skill. This weekend was not only a historic time for Halo esports, but also a special weekend for me as a fan of competitive Halo. On the finest Halo stage yet, 16 teams from around the globe met in Hollywood to determine which was the best squad in all the world. Between Allegiance’s comeback in the quarterfinals and road to the finals, Epsilon achieving the first top 8 finish at a major North American event, and CLG’s dominance all weekend, the event was one for the history books. Memories were made, champions were crowned, new features were teased, and the HCS Pro League was announced. In short, we are indeed just getting started, and there’s plenty more where that came from. Thank you all for tuning in and making the Halo World Championships the most-watched Halo tournament in history. To catch the finals video on demand, head here.

Over the past few weeks, our teams have been preparing for the Ghosts of Meridian update, keeping an eye on feedback on things like Warzone Assault gameplay, sandbox tuning, region-specific matchmaking (we’d love your feedback in this thread), and more. The MP team continues work on new modes, has recently updated Torque and the Mantis REQ level, and just today, based on feedback, we’ve loosened the parameters within social playlists to make them feel “a bit more social,” and also added some of our favorite community maps to BTB and Grifball. More on that later. Continue reading

New Community maps added BTB and Grifball!

I will have more details on this tomorrow. For now let me say these new maps are a LOT of fun!!

So far I’ve played on 3 new community made BTB maps and one of the new Grifball maps.

Pas well, there have been some revisions to Deadlock. For one, it’s MUCH bigger. The lighting is SO ,ch better. While not quite a prefect translation of Stand Off from Halo 3, it is close. It FEELS much better to play on. One key change…NO SPAWN SWAPS! Yep. That’s right folks, you spawn with your team side of the map!!!

On another note, I’m streaming through twitch now. So come check out my channel at twitc.tv/halofanforlife. I plan on steaming every time I’m on. And hopefully soon, I’ll be able to have giveaways during the streams too.

Killer Instinct’s Arbiter Colors and Accessories

This is a reblog from Killer Instinct

Oh, before I reblog, I should say that I haven’t yet played Killer Instinct. But man, having the Arbiter in there…I just may have to try this game out!

By Rukari

Well, hello there. You know, I was so excited to post this yesterday, since it was Monday, and you all were in no way expecting any sort of character backstory since we had wrapped up Season 2 with Aria. The stars had aligned in a perfect way, with a video featuring myself and Adam Isgreen had been shown during the Halo World Championships talking about Arbiter over the weekend. Monday was to feature Arbiter’s colors & accessories, and we had a space for a backstory. What a perfect opportunity to dive more in to the Arbiter!

Then the site went down…

We’re back, though, and with us we brought a good friend, GrimBrotherOne (Jeff), from the team over at 343 Industries to talk with us about Arbiter in a backstory(ish) fashion. We’re going to let him take the floor and run with it. Ready? Here we go. Continue reading

Who would you want to play the characters of Halo in a live-action movie?

This article was prompted by a discussion thread with my friends at Halo Podcast evolved. Some of the actors chosen here were also chosen in that thread by myself and others.

Hypothetically, if a Halo live-action movie were to be made, who would you like to see play the characters? Let’s not get bogged down with which era of the Halo-verse the movie would be in. Rather, let’s talk about key players and some not so key players who might be in the movie(s).

Before we go forward, suffice to say that if the voice actors would be available for the roles, they at the least would be best for the voice if not the action part. As in the case of Master Chief, Steve Downes would virtually be a must for the voice, but could be played by another actor for the live-action part.

Master Chief: Voice Steve Downes, Action Daniel CudmoreMC actorsThese are easy choices. It would be hard to hear anyone else other than Steve as Master Chief. However, if he’s either not available or they’d want someone younger, then the voice actor for Chief in Forward Unto Dawn would be a good choice. Cudmore has enough of the height at 6’10” and again has already played Chief. He’s also known for his role as Colossus in the X-Men movies a character who is tall and armored (well in that he can make his skin steel-like).

Cortona: There is NO question who would do the voice here. Jen Taylor is the ONLY choice in my opinion. Anyone else just wouldn’t do justice to the voice/character, IMO. Cortana Actors v2As for the action part, Mackenzie Mason, the actress who played the motion capture part of Cortana for Halo 4 would be optimal. There are several women out there though who could play the role. Would 343 go for a more well known actor here? Jennifer Lawrence could fit that role. Heh, she’s already been half naked and blue as her role of Mystique in the X-Men movies. So it’s not a stretch for her. She would obviously bring start power to the physical part of the role. Question is, would she want to be blue and possibly half naked again? LOL Also, would she do the part without having the voice too?? Continue reading

Halo Championship Series Pro League

This is a reblog from Halo Waypoint:

Last night (3-20-16), the two best Halo teams in the world went head-to-head in a thrilling World Championship final that has literally changed their lives. Today we signify the next evolution of Halo esports.

The Halo World Championship 2016 could be seen as a finale of sorts – the ultimate event in the Halo Championship Series sports calendar – but from our perspective, it’s really just the beginning.

We are pleased, proud and excited to announce the Halo Championship Series: Pro League – a long-term partnership between 343 Industries and ESL to grow, nurture and evolve Halo esports at every level of competition. Continue reading

Unless you were in a cave on a glassed world, you probably heard that the Halo World Championship was this past weekend. Certainly, if you have been coming to the blog here, you already knew that.

Well, just in case you didn’t watch the event or maybe even don’t know the results, I’m here to give a bit of a review of what transpired over the course of the weekend.
